As Housing First Umpqua works on the big picture, we will also be helping individuals access income and housing, via our SOAR and our homeless outreach programs.

Here in Douglas County, we have many agency and government entities working on our local homeless problem, yet homelessness is not going down. In fact, just the opposite is true. Together WE can change this.

The Systemic Advocacy work we do involves collaborating with others to coordinate services and reduce access barriers.

Housing First Umpqua is a grassroots organization, formed by volunteers who want to work to end homelessness in Douglas County and beyond. Our collective experience on homelessness and affordable housing is extensive, and includes those formerly homeless and affordable housing experts as well as everyday citizens.

Formed out of frustration, after realizing existing services are underfunded and help only a token few, we brought together our knowledge and skills in order to bring about change. Housing First Umpqua formed in February, 2019 as a registered charity in the State of Oregon.
